Are you doctor-owned or corporate?

Peak Pediatric Dentistry is 100% doctor-owned. Dr. Austin is personally involved in every part of your child’s care. No corporate patient mill—just honest, consistent care from someone you can trust.

Do you take emergencies or same-day appointments?

Yes. We save time every day for emergencies like toothaches, fractures, infections, and trauma. Call us and we’ll get your child in fast.

Does the water in Utah make cavities worse for kids?

Utah water doesn’t have ideal fluoride levels, but topical fluoride works far better than drinking it. We’ll guide you on exactly what your child needs.

When should my child first see a dentist?

By age one, or within six months of the first tooth. Early visits prevent problems and keep things simple.

How often should kids go to the dentist?

Every six months—more often if they're cavity-prone.

Do baby teeth matter even though they fall out?

Baby teeth matter for eating, speech, and holding space for adult teeth. We only fix teeth that actually benefit your child—if it's about to fall out, we leave it alone.

What if my child is anxious or scared?

Totally normal. We use a gentle approach, explain things in kid-friendly terms, and give your child control whenever possible.

Do you offer laughing gas?

Yes, we use it every day. It helps kids relax and it wears off quickly.

Are your fillings really shot-free?

Yep. For many cavities, we avoid shots entirely by keeping the tooth cool with a diamond bur and using medicated materials that prevent sensitivity.

What type of fillings do you use?

We use only tooth-colored, BPA-free materials.

How can I prevent cavities at home?

Brush twice a day, floss nightly, use fluoride toothpaste, and limit frequent snacking and sugary drinks.

Is fluoride safe for my child?

Yes. Topical fluoride is extremely safe and the most effective way to prevent cavities.

Does my child need dental X-rays?

Only when necessary. We use ultra-low-dose digital X-rays and minimize exposure.

When should my child get an orthodontic evaluation?

Age 7 is ideal so we can spot issues early and avoid more complex treatment later.

Do you treat tongue or lip ties?

Yes. We use a gentle laser to release ties affecting nursing, speech, or function.

Do you place pediatric crowns?

When a tooth has a deep cavity, a crown protects it until it naturally falls out.

Sealants protect the chewing surfaces of molars and are one of the easiest ways to prevent cavities.

What should I do for a chipped or broken tooth?

Call us right away. Save the piece if possible. We can usually repair fractures beautifully.

Do you accept my insurance?

We accept many insurance plans and help maximize your benefits. Call us and we’ll verify your coverage.

What if we don't have dental insurance?

We offer transparent pricing and flexible options so every child can get the care they need.

Will my child need sedation dentistry?

Most kids don’t. If they do, we offer safe options from laughing gas to IV sedation.

Do you treat special-needs children?

Absolutely. We tailor every visit to your child's needs and pace.

Do you recommend whitening for kids or teens?

For teens, whitening is often safe — we just make sure enamel is healthy first.

Meet Dr. Austin Williams

Raised in southern Idaho, Dr. Williams comes from a proud family of dentists, with his grandfather being the second dentist in Mesa, Arizona. He earned his dental degree from A.T. Still University and completed his Pediatric Dental Residency at UNLV. He is dedicated to providing compassionate and holistic dental care for children. He really wants kids to have a good experience.

Outside the office, he is a big DIY dad, and is a frequent flyer at Home Depot. To take a break he loves to explore the outdoors and you’ll find him up American Fork Canyon most weekends exploring with his three girls.

Shanna

Office Manager

Shanna brings over 13 years of dental experience to Peak Pediatric Dentistry. Her natural leadership and strong work ethic made her the perfect fit. Fair, competent, and highly respected by both patients and staff, Shanna keeps our office running smoothly every day.

Her deep knowledge of dental insurance allows her to help families find ways to afford the care their children need. Before joining the pediatric world, she gained valuable experience in general dentistry and worked as a lead orthodontic assistant—giving her a well-rounded perspective that benefits our patients.

Shanna is also known for her quick wit and sense of humor, which brings warmth and laughter to the office. When she’s not at work, you’ll likely find her cruising on her motorcycle, enjoying the outdoors with her dogs in the Uinta Mountains, or tackling her latest DIY project.

Kayla

Financial Coordinator

Kayla is the friendly voice you’ll often hear when you call our office. Originally from California, she brings a blend of professionalism and warmth that instantly puts families at ease. Bilingual in Spanish and English, she makes sure every parent feels comfortable and understood.

Family is at the heart of everything Kayla does. She grew up surrounded by mariachi music, performing alongside her grandparents, and that love for tradition and togetherness continues to inspire her today. Whenever she gets the chance, Kayla treasures time spent with her own family.

Known by patients and coworkers alike as “the sweetest person you’ll ever meet,” Kayla pairs her caring personality with professionalism—especially when helping families over the phone or coordinating financial details. She ensures each family’s experience is smooth, clear, and stress-free from the very first call.

Kaylee

Lead Dental Assistant

Kaylee brings five years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science from Idaho State University, where she also played Division I softball.

Certified in dental assisting, she combines her strong work ethic and team spirit to create a positive, welcoming environment for every patient.

Kaylee especially loves working with kids—their unique perspective and energy make each day rewarding.

She’s passionate about building trust with families and helping children feel confident and comfortable at the dentist. Outside of work, Kaylee enjoys traveling and exploring new places, but mostly Disneyland…

Brooklyne

Pediatric Dental Assistant/Digital Restorative Lead

Brooklyne is a proud graduate of Davis Technical College and holds a Seal of Bilingual Proficiency in French.

She has a natural ability to connect with children and loves making their dental visits a positive and educational experience.

Whether she’s helping kids feel comfortable in the chair or guiding parents through dental care tips, Brooklyne brings a calm, friendly energy to every interaction.

Outside the office, she enjoys being outdoors with her husband and has a special love for animals, especially dogs. She also comes from a long family line of dental, and has a great smile!

Dental Assistant

Abby is a graduate of Mountainland Technical College and has been assisting for over three years.

She has a natural gift for working with kids and loves creating a positive, comfortable environment for every little patient.

Outside of the office, Abby enjoys traveling and exploring new places with her husband, making memories wherever they go.

Kylinn is a proud graduate of Mountain West Dental Assisting Academy and brings energy and heart to everything she does.

When she’s not assisting in the office, you can probably find her on the soccer field! She also took most of the photos on this website, so book her for a family shoot! (we obviously love her work)

Kylinn loves being part of a supportive, fun-loving team and especially enjoys working with kids — their humor and honesty keep her smiling every day.

Kelsey

Pediatric Dental Assistant

Kelsey is a proud graduate of Mountainland Technical College and and importnat part of our team. A lifelong soccer fan, she played on her highschool team and still enjoys staying active in her free time.

You can often find her at the pool, enjoying the outdoors and being a nanny. Kelsey loves working in a pediatric dental office because she appreciates the kindness and honesty of kids, and she brings that same warmth and sincerity to every pateint she meets.
